Amit A. Savkar is a professor in residence and director of the Quantitative Learning Center at the University of Connecticut’s Department of Mathematics. He holds a Ph.D. in education psychology with a focus on measurement, evaluation, and assessment from the Neag School of Education. Savkar’s research centers on mathematics education, particularly in large lecture pedagogy, data integration, and predictive modeling. He has been involved in significant grant proposals, including a $681,379 NSF IUSE project aimed at predicting STEM retention through data and resource analysis. As a UConn Teaching Fellow, he has developed innovative teaching methods and online course materials to enhance student engagement and learning outcomes. Savkar has also contributed to the field through publications and a U.S. provisional patent application titled “Pedagogy through technology.” His leadership in educational innovation and commitment to advancing quantitative learning have made him a key figure in UConn’s academic community.
